Kery brought his fly rod and fished the river as I soaked up the sun (a little too much on my legs). We watched dozens of boats full of fishermen launch and head up and down the river. The bug hatch was so bad at one time I had to get in the car. I took a picture through the window....here they are:

The dogs had fun watching Kery’s fly hit the water. Sam loves to go fishing; he watches the fly float down the river and waits patiently but eagerly for a “fish-on”. He doesn’t know what to do with the fish once it’s caught, but watches it flopping around until it’s thrown back in the river and he can get back to watching the fly. Sadie just likes to be in the water – no special reason. She loves to put her face under water searching for rocks or sticks she may want to retrieve. Sugar too loves to fetch; she thinks she is a retriever because when we got her as a puppy, the book we bought about Shih-Tzu’s said they don’t retrieve and Kery set out to prove them wrong. She loves her toys and loves to fetch them. She is only 14 lbs but she will jump into the river after a stick thrown and swim to fetch it. A little known fact - Shih-Tzu’s have webbed feet so were meant to swim! All in all we had a good time at Ringold, Washington.
Here is a picture of a rock sculpture we built on the beach.
